Where am I?

I didn't want to post anything until I had figured something out for certain. Well, what in life is really certain?

I left Haiti early in February. I never, at any point, stopped loving what I do there, stopped being amazed by and adoring my kids, or stopped loving the country as a whole. I was just exhausted and needed a break. I'm visiting my family and friends in the Seattle area, as well as working as a nanny for a couple of families. I have also applied for a nursing license to work in California. There are a couple of traveling nursing jobs that I am interested in, which means I would work at a hospital for 13 weeks, then after that I can either stay (if they like me, the job is still needed, and I like them), or I can go to another hospital or back to Haiti. Praying, praying...I need that nursing license first before I can move forward with anything, though. I appreciate your prayers for me to be thankful in the midst of the waiting and for me to be aware of how God wants to use me here, in Washington, right now. Help me to be fully present Lord in the now.

Brooke,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with needing a break and don't ever let others make you feel guilty or confused for doing so. God knows the desires of your heart and the plans for your life. I believe a lot of people in ministry find it hard to grasp onto that aspect of resting in Him. We, ourselves have to have the time to be filled with Him because if we don't take the time to rest and be filled with His presence, knowledge, love etc then how are we to pour into others?
I pray during this season you are filled with peace, that his refreshing rains follow you everywere you go, that the door opens for you to train and recieve the license and necessary training needed for the next step in our life that He already has set up for you.

You are a blessing WHEREVER you are. You blessed us in the hospital, you blessed the children at Camp GTW, and then blessed so many in Haiti. Wherever you are, God is; you cannot be outside of His love or His work - wherever you are, as you give yourself to Him, you are doing His work. God bless you, and may He guide you to feel sure of His leading.

Brooke, I have been reading your blog for awhile now and have never posted but I just wanted to tell you that no matter where God leads you, you are a god send and an inspiration. I admire you for doing the works of God and taking the lead where he has led you!! I'll pray that God will continue to lead you where he needs you to be.

Thank you for being so present with me and Luca and for helping us! I am also glad that you are taking a 'break' and hopefully getting perspective on what to do next as you are looking to the Lord for his wisdom and guidance. You are a blessing to who ever you are around!

I want to thank each of you for your encouragement and prayers! These changes are a lot easier knowing that I have so much support, kind people, and prayers with me!

Brooke, I just found your blog. Am going back to Haiti in 2 weeks. Watching you in action, your care, your heart, your compassion, seeing God glorified in your everyday activity remains an indelible visual memory. Your presence, your peace in the sense of chaos, your calm focus, and your love for the people helped me to see things, the first time there, just a little clearer. And want to return. You will be fine wherever you land, and I will pray for you daily. Thanks for allowing me to serve along side you when I was there. Practice your IV's . I know we will see one another again, on this side or the next.

Phil- I am happy for you that you get to go back! I think Ashley, the nurse now there, will be excited to have you too! Its been awhile since there's been medical people there to help her out. Thank you for your encouragement and calming presence. I really needed you that week! I'll be in Orange County soon so hopefully I'll run into you!
